Dylan was sent home on Wednesday with an upset tummy

Dylan was sent home on Wednesday with an upset tummy, he managed to make quite a mess!

He has quite loose bowels at the best of times, always has done (well that or constipated, he doesn't have a middle ground really) BUT, even I agreed it seemed more like an upset tummy.
Now this is was weird, because there was NO temperature, and Dylan gets a temperature for even a snotty nose!!

Well, he had been lively and still bouncing around, and not really behaving poorly, albeit still a bit on the loose side of normal. This morning he was so lively i decided to talk to him about how well did he feel, how did his tummy feel, and right up until I said about going to school, he was saying its better, then suddenly he got really fretful and said that there were strangers in school and that he mustn't talk to strangers. He then in another moment started to say about how his class was too big and he needed a little class. At this point in dawned on me, on Tuesday they were told who their new Teachers were, and in Dylan's case, new LSA too! (I am not too happy about this tbh, but his current LSA is due a baby in December so I didn't expect her to be with him for long... still, I thought he would have her for a few weeks to help him settle, seems she thought so too btw)

So, I came to the conclusion the tummy upset was actually down to anxiety, its Dylan's first male teacher next year, which is probably where the stranger thing comes in? I said what if I ask the teacher if he can have a small teddy to keep him company today, would he go in then, he cheered up and smiled and agreed to go to school then.

I have spoken to his LSA this morning, and his head teacher, but I am now really rather worried about how he will cope with losing his LSA, AND his teacher all in one go. I think I want to ask if he can be allowed her for a short while in September, perhaps even if its not the whole morning as he has atm, then perhaps an hour a day, reducing to 30 mins first thing, then perhaps just a settle him in with his new LSA.

I don't know :( I guess it cannot help that there is a new baby on the way, he seems really excited about the baby, but I can only assume that on some level it means he knows the family and mummy are changing too. Must be so hard for him.

jees I made myself cry writing this!! Not sure what I am trying to do by telling you about this, just felt I wanted to :)

Sounds like Dylan has a lot of worry at the moment. I hope he settles in well, and that his new teachers are sensitive to his worries.

First daughter is a vomitter.

When she was a baby she used to throw up all the time, almost everytime she ate something she'd throw something back up.

She eats like a horse now without a problem, but if she's nervous about something (doing a big performance in front of the school or something) then she'll often throw up.
